Kaiser Permanent grants $15,000 to L&FCC “To improve the health of the communities we serve.” |
|
For more than 60 years, Kaiser Permanente’s social mission, “To improve the health of the communities we serve,” has provided the foundation for their community service programming and philanthropy. Kaiser Permanente believes that healthy communities benefit everyone. Through their grantmaking program they support, strengthen and enhance programs that address the needs of the most vulnerable residents in the community. In June 2009, Loaves & Fishes received a grant of $15,000 for the purchase of food & supplies to feed the hungry of Contra Costa. We have partnered with Kaiser Permanente by providing people in need with a full nutritious meal Monday – Friday. Our hope is that individuals and families will come to Loaves & Fishes and receive a healthy meal verses an inexpensive, high fat, fast food meal or no meal at all. http://info.kp.org/communitybenefit/html/about_us/global/about_us_7.html |
