Loaves and Fishes welcomes new Executive Director David Gerson

David Gerson has been appointed as the new Executive Director of Loaves and Fishes of Contra Costa effective Monday, July 11th.
 
David starts his leadership role as Loaves and Fishes kicks off its 2011/2012 fiscal year.  David's strong business background and commitment to the community make him uniquely suited to lead the agency as the increasing demand for our services continues to reflect the lingering economic challenges in Contra Costa County.

David retired from the practice of law in 2009 after 25 years, most recently as a senior tax partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati (a national law firm headquartered in Palo Alto). He currently serves on the Lafayette School District's governing board.  For the past decade, David has been an active Board Member of Shelter Inc. of Contra Costa, the leading provider of housing services for homeless families. He served most recently as board president where he led the agency's successful major donor campaign, oversaw its financial turn around, and chaired the Development and Executive Committees.
 
David, his wife Stacii and their twin middle school daughters live in Lafayette and have been residents of Contra Costa for over 16 years.
 
We are delighted to have David on board. Eleanor Bonner, who stepped in and did a fantastic job as our Interim Executive Director, will continue with Loaves and Fishes in the Operations Manager role, and Joleen Lafayette continues as our Development Director.
