New Antioch and Oakley location updates

Did you know that Loaves & Fishes have made two long-term changes to sites in the Oakley and Antioch areas? In Oakley we have moved from Saint Anthony’s Church on O’Hara Avenue to the Redman-Pocahontas Hall at 1403 Main Street next to the Live Oak Church. Our new location is accessible on the Tri-Delta Transit Route 383 Oakley Loop.

With the ongoing construction projects centering around the Saint Anthony’s site, LFCC decided to make a long-term commitment to the Redman-Pocahontas Hall that offers our clients a comfortable, quiet location to enjoy a hot meal, while also offering the ability to expand at that same site if the need arises. The Redman-Pocahontas Hall has two larger adjoining rooms that could be used if expansion became necessary. Jane Crockett, who manages the Hall, has stated that she enjoys having Loaves & Fishes on site Monday-Friday and is glad that the Redman Hall can help the community during these tough economic times. “After the move our numbers dropped a little while people learned of the new location,” said Mike Baroman-Coggins, Loaves & Fishes executive director. “We are now seeing an increase after handing out flyers, having a story in the Brentwood Press and getting the word out through our guests. We have also seen an increase in diners coming from Bethel Island, which we did not see as much at Saint Anthony’s.” The new Oakley location opened in May.
