The following jobs are needed year round:
SORT & STORE – Mondays, 10am – 1pm - Process donated food, sort, package and store items. Must be able to lift 30 to 40 pounds. Some time will be spent in refrigerated rooms.
SIDE KICKS - M-F, 8am - Noon - Prepare side dishes, including packaging food for ‘free tables’. Requires some cutting of fruits, vegetables and breads.
CHOP & CHAT – Tu – F, 10am – 1pm - Cut food for cooking.
PREP COOKING - Thurs & Fri - Advance preparation, including cooking meats, roasting vegetables, and making sauces, stock, breadcrumbs. Must have a working knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking. Experience with cooking for large numbers a plus.
OCCASIONAL CHEFS – On-call As Needed 8am - 1pm - Fill in for the catering kitchen cook or work with the cook as needed. Volunteers will be contacted with a 3 day lead time and can decline a request. Must have a working knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking. Experience with cooking for large numbers a plus.
A dress code for propriety, health and safety is in effect.
