Central Kitchen Volunteers
To change an old adage, “If you can stand the heat, get into our kitchen!” Our extensive menu service requires volunteer individuals or groups who can work together in tight quarters, including cleaning as well as food preparation. Extra dress requirements for safety and health are in effect. The following jobs are needed year round:
SORT & STORE – Mondays, 10am – 1pm
SIDE KICKS - M-F, 8am - Noon
CHOP & CHAT – Tu – F, 10am – 1pm.
PREP COOKING - Thurs & Fri
OCCASIONAL CHEFS – On-call As Needed 8am - 1pm

Dining Site Service Volunteers
Serving at our Dining Rooms and Partner Dining Sites is the heart of our connection with the hungry. Serving volunteers may do any or all of the following: storage and sorting of food, light food preparation, set up and clean up of dining areas, serving food, and cleaning dishes and equipment. Servers are needed every weekday of the year from 10 am – 1:30 pm (except for the holidays we’re closed).

The Driving Force
Our team of volunteer drivers is the backbone of our county-wide food transportation network. Drivers move food every day of the week between donor organizations and our Central Catering Kitchen. A limited number of drivers will have regular year round routes, which can be shared among a consistent group; some substitute drivers are needed as well.

Volunteer Your Other Expertise
We need consistent help with various office tasks and with our Website and Newsletter. Most of the year we have need of volunteers at Farmers’ Market booths.. Repair of equipment and vehicles is often in demand. Sometimes we get calls for people to pick or pick up fruit or vegetables during their ripening season. For these and any other skills you would be willing to offer, fill out our volunteer application and we’ll be sure to contact you.
